101.9 The Bull Boise's Best Country
Kevin & Brenda Mee’s Annual Potato Gleaning Event
Every fall, a remarkable event unfolds on the western side of the Treasure Valley. Kevin and Brenda Mee, the well-known hosts from Boise’s 101.9 The Bull, invite the community to their Annual Potato Gleaning Event—a heartwarming tradition of giving back that benefits Idaho’s military families and veterans through Operation Grateful Hearts.
For over a decade, Kevin and Brenda have transformed a simple idea—rescuing leftover potatoes from farmers’ fields—into a large-scale effort that helps feed hundreds of families. These potatoes, left behind due to cosmetic imperfections, are still perfectly good to eat. The Mee’s saw an opportunity to reduce waste while supporting local veterans through a partnership with Operation Grateful Hearts.
The event invites volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to join in the gleaning, making it a perfect family-friendly outing. From kids to church groups, everyone comes together for a day of fun, hard work, and a shared passion for helping others. The suggested $10 donation per car directly supports Operation Grateful Hearts, ensuring that your effort makes a real difference.
